Advanced Veterinary Internal Medicine Services Now Available at Fox Run
Fox Run Veterinary Hospital is expanding our specialty care options with advanced internal medicine services and minimally invasive procedures provided right here in our familiar, low-stress hospital.
Through our partnership with traveling specialists from MOVES and the addition of advanced diagnostic equipment, we can now provide services that previously required a visit to an outside specialty center. This allows more pets to receive advanced care in a familiar environment, often with less travel and a shorter wait for an appointment.
Advanced Diagnostic and Internal Medicine Services
Our expanded services include:
Internal medicine consultations: Expert evaluation and guidance for pets with complicated, chronic, or difficult-to-diagnose medical conditions.
Abdominal and thoracic ultrasounds: Non-invasive imaging used to evaluate organs, tissues, and structures within the abdomen and chest.
Endoscopic procedures: Minimally invasive procedures used for gastrointestinal biopsies and, depending on specialist availability, foreign body retrieval. Many pets can return home the same day without undergoing traditional surgery.
Cystoscopy: Direct examination of the lower urinary tract, allowing the specialist to collect samples, perform biopsies, and remove some small bladder stones.
Endotracheal washes and tracheoscopy: Examination of the upper airway to identify concerns such as tracheal collapse, masses, or foreign bodies. Samples may also be collected to help guide treatment.
Bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage: Examination and sampling of the lower airways to investigate concerns such as airway collapse, masses, inflammation, or foreign bodies.
Rhinoscopy: Evaluation of chronic nasal and sinus problems, including infections, foreign bodies, and masses. The specialist may also collect biopsies or remove certain obstructions during the procedure.
Advanced Care in a Familiar Environment
Many of these procedures are minimally invasive and allow pets to return home the same day. By welcoming MOVES specialists to Fox Run, we can provide a higher level of diagnostic care without requiring families to visit an unfamiliar specialty hospital.
