Technician Appointments

Quick, Convenient Care for Routine Services

You may have heard the term “technician appointment” when scheduling care for your pet—but what does that actually mean?

A technician appointment is a convenient alternative to a full veterinary exam for certain routine services and previously approved treatments. These visits are designed to get you and your pet in and out efficiently while still providing the attentive, high-quality care you expect from Fox Run Veterinary Hospital.

A veterinarian in purple scrubs kneels on the floor holding a golden retriever puppy, which is sniffing a metal bowl of ice cream. Behind her, a colleague in blue scrubs, wearing a face mask, works on a medical table with another dog. The setting appears to be a veterinary clinic with equipment and wooden floors.

Before Booking a Technician Appointment

To qualify for a technician appointment, your pet must:

  • Have had a wellness examination at Fox Run Veterinary Hospital within the past year

  • Be current on their required core vaccines

  • Have an established veterinary treatment plan when receiving prescribed medications, injections, bloodwork, or other ongoing treatments

For dogs, core vaccine requirements generally include a current rabies vaccine and Distemper/Parvovirus vaccination. For cats vaccine requirements generally include a current rabies vaccine.

Please make sure your pet’s wellness exam and core vaccines are up to date before booking a technician appointment. If your pet is overdue, a veterinary exam may need to be scheduled first.

“So you know when a business is SO great, you want to keep them to yourself so they don’t get too busy to see you but also, you want to shout from the rooftop how awesome they are?
Well this was my experience at Fox Run Veterinary Hospital. Excellent, friendly staff, knowledgeable veterinary team, just an overall great, ten star visit.”

How Technician Appointments Work

When you arrive, you will check in with our amazing front desk team and wait with your dog or cat in the lobby.

A veterinary technician will meet with you shortly and take a brief history in the lobby. They will confirm the reason for the appointment, review any relevant information, and clarify the treatment or service being performed.

Your technician will then bring your pet into our treatment area while you remain in the lobby. Once the service is complete, the technician will return with your pet, review how the appointment went, answer any questions, and provide any necessary follow-up instructions.

You will then complete payment with our front desk team and be on your way.

Technician appointments are intended to be efficient, in-and-out visits that save you valuable time while ensuring your pet receives excellent care from our experienced veterinary team.
